Certified Instructor Jacques-Philippe
Certified Instructor Jacques-Philippe was raised by parents who were both martial artists. He began training at the age of three. His early training in judo and wrestling helped instill the discipline and resilience that continue to shape his approach to both training and life. In his youth, he became a national champion in judo and a Florida Division I state runner-up in wrestling.
Jacques-Philippe has trained under SaBumNim David Herbert at the World Martial Arts Center since 2012. For him, martial arts are a lifelong path of self-mastery and personal development.
Martial arts are also a family tradition. His children began training at WMAC at ages four and six, and the dojang has become an important part of their shared family practice.
Outside the dojang, Jacques-Philippe is an entrepreneur and investor, and co-founder of The Mindful Arts, which integrates martial arts philosophy with meditation, breathwork, and leadership development. He holds degrees from Georgetown University and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders community.
He especially enjoys helping students discover that martial arts are not only about technique, but about building confidence, discipline, and character that extend far beyond the mat.
