KyoSaNim

KyoSaNim Dominick Brioche is a native of the Caribbean Island of Haiti; the first black republic in the western hemisphere. A three time Black Belt Hall of Fame inductee, she holds a 6th degree Black Belt in Jujitsu and a 3rd degree Black Belts in both HapKiDo and TaeKwonDo. Dominick is the first and only female Shihan in Kumite Ryu Jujitsu under Soke Lil John Davis; she has been featured in literature and celebrated posters featuring Doctor Moses Powell and Soke Lil John Davis. Certified as International Instructor in HapKiDo, KyoSaNim has hosted seminars in New York City, Delaware, Washington DC, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In her constant pursuit of excellence, KyoSaNim is furthering her formal education in Philosophy at the Doctorate level.

3rd Dan Teachers

Training under SaBumNim since 1997, NYC native Betty Sze earned her 1st Dan in HapKiDo in 2001, 2nd in 2004 and 3rd in 2009. To complement her HapKiDo training, she has also trained in Wing Chun Kung Fu, Shaolin Kung Fu, Judo, and Jujitsu. Betty holds the rank of 3rd Dan under Soke John Davis in Kumite Ryu Jujitsu. A 3 year stint as a personal trainer and kickboxing instructor, studying directly under a former Mr. America, gave her a solid foundation in the anatomy of the body. At WMAC Manhattan, Betty was the main children's instructor from 2003-2006 and has logged thousands of hours teaching and assisting with classes and seminars for adults and children. Her main goal is to promote the martial arts to the world as a way to achieve spirituality, health and empowerment. Betty has a BA in French Literature from Cornell University and is the managing editor at MODELS.com.

Brad was born and raised in Los Angeles and has been studying martial arts since the age of 10. He practices several styles, attaining ranks in Tae Kwon Do, Shaolin Kempo, and in Kuk Sool Won before committing to HapKiDo at the World Martial Arts Center. He currently holds the ranks of 3rd dan in HapKiDo and 2nd dan in Kumite Ryu Jujitsu. As an instructor, Brad focuses on fundamentals, core concepts, and conditioning. He especially enjoys working with children and has been teaching children classes in Brooklyn since the location opened in 2003. He was was proud to see many of his students as part of WMAC's first group of junior black belts. Outside of the dojang, Brad works on internet software and is a director at the New York Times. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a BS in Environment Engineering.

Jonathan Waks received his first Dan Black Belt in HapKiDo in 2001, a Second Dan in 2004, and reached Third Dan in 2010. In addition, he also holds a First Dan – 2008 in VSK Jujitsu - Soke John Davis. Jonathan has over 1500 teaching hours, has lead specialty seminars in weapons, sparring, falling, philosophy, meditation and teacher training. He is currently the Vice President of Account Services Jack Russell Group, an event production and special construction firm whose clients include Microsoft, Ocean Spray, NewYork City Board of Elections.

Carol Glasgow was born and raised in London, England, where she earned a BA in Engineering and an AS in Business Administration. In June 1990 she immigrated to the US and began her training under Sabumnim David Herbert, earning her 1st Degree Black Belt in Hapkido in 2001. Carol also trained under Grandmaster Soke “Lil” John Davis in Kumite Ryu Ju-jitsu where she earned her 1st degree in 2007. Carol received her 2nd degree in Hapkido in 2005 and her 3rd degree in 2010. She is a certified personal trainer, and also teaches Kick Boxing and Self Defense Classes.

Eva Maria Vaccaro was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She moved to NYC in March 1995, received a BA equivalent in Drama from the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and HB Studios, NYC. She holds a 3rd Dan in Hapkido and has taught well over 3000 Hapkido classes at WMAC. She holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Kumite Ryu Jujitsu under Soke Lil’ John Davis. Eva is a Certified Pilates Machine and Mat Instructor with Half Moon Pilates since 2007, a Certified Fitness Trainer since 2002, and is currently certified with AAAI/ISMA. In addition, she is a Fitness Nutritionist certified by AAAI/ISMA, and Herbal Practitioner certified by Clayton College of Natural Health. In October 2008 Eva formed her own company All About You Fitness, LLC, where she teaches Pilates, weight training, balance ball, pre- and post natal, kick-boxing and Hapkido to private clients one on one or in duet sessions.

Jennifer Cassetta is a 3rd degree black belt in HapKiDo, and has been a student of Master David Herbert for over 10 years. She also holds a black belt in VSK Jujitsu from Soke Lil John Davis. Jennifer has a Master’s degree in Nutrition, is a certified personal trainer, and has completed a holistic health program. She is the founder of Health in the City, and created the popular Stilettos and Self Defense workshop help on both the East and West coasts.

Jerome Drouot is a 2nd degree black belt with the World Pro HapKiDo Federation. For the past 20 years, he has trained under the guidance of SaBumNim David Herbert. He is ranked San Dan (3rd degree, which gives him the title of Sensei) in VSK Jujitsu under Grand Master Soke "Lil" John Davis. As a senior instructor at WMAC, Jerome has taught hundreds of classes and has helped guide many students towards mastery of their martial arts and of their lives. He is also a licensed personal trainer, and was formed by Rich Barretta (1987 Mr. America), and currently trains clients at Rich Barretta Private Training.
